What is CSR-1?

CSR-1 refers to the “Form CSR-1” under the Companies Act, 2013. It is a mandatory form that must be filed by entities intending to undertake Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities on behalf of a company. This requirement ensures compliance with Section 135 of the Companies Act, 2013, and the associated Companies (Corporate Social Responsibility Policy) Rules, 2014.

Procedure for Filing Form CSR-1 Registration

  1. Digital Signature Certificate (DSC): The form must be digitally signed by the authorized signatory of the implementing agency.
  2. Certification by a Professional: The form must also be certified by a Chartered Accountant, Company Secretary, or Cost Accountant in practice.
  3. Approval by MCA: Once submitted, the MCA issues the organization a unique CSR Registration Number, confirming its eligibility.
